Peer Support Specialist

Pay: $16–$18 per hour

About the Role
TPC Wellness is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to provide recovery-focused support to individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges. This position uses personal lived experience to mentor, encourage, and guide clients on their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Build supportive, trusting relationships with clients
- Assist clients in accessing housing, employment, healthcare, and community resources
- Provide life skills coaching, coping strategies, and peer-led support
- Facilitate groups and wellness-focused activities
- Collaborate with clinicians and treatment teams
- Document client interactions accurately and timely
- Recognize crisis situations and support appropriate intervention
- Follow OhioMHAS peer support standards and ethical guidelines
Qualifications
- Lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery (1+ year sustained recovery)
- Ohio Certified Peer Recovery Supporter (CPRS) required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid Ohio driver’s license; ability to pass background and drug screening
- Comfortable working in office, community, and home settings
- Some travel required
