- Responsible for evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and consultation of patients with psychological disorders using psychological techniques for the purpose of understanding, preventing, and relieving psychological distress or dysfunction.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients who exhibit evidence the full range of disorders in accordance with regulations that functions as an authoritative source of information regarding the use and interpretation of psychological tests.
- Conduct psychological assessment of patients with a wide variety of known or suspected psychological disorders that affect intellectual, cognitive, behavioral or emotional functioning.
- Perform psychotherapeutic intervention or environmental modification based on scientific, evidence-based practice, or other community-accepted standard of care.
- Conduct individual and group short-term therapy sessions, including psychoeducational sessions, using expert knowledge and therapeutic techniques.
- Provide oversight and expert direction to nurse providers, unlicensed psychology interns, psychiatry residents, and paraprofessionals.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal Drug Free Workplace Programs.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- The employee must be licensed and maintain a license for independent practice as a clinical psychologist in a U.S. State, commonwealth, or territory.
- The incumbent may be required to work on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
- Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
