The Department of Corrections is seeking a dedicated and creative Social Worker 2 to become a valuable member of our team in the Office of Victim Advocate (OVA). EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
In this position, you will provide innovative trauma healing and resiliency building services to survivors of crime and work to ensure office staff effectively manage the trauma and vicarious trauma inherent in the workplace. Your work will involve managing social work needs for OVA staff, conducting assessments of individual and group needs, developing and implementing programs that promote healing, and educating staff in best practices for self-care. You will plan and offer resiliency building tools and address vicarious trauma needs. Some of your duties will include facilitating virtual support groups, creating social media content, and providing oversight on the implementation of the restorative justice curriculum. Additionally, you will coordinate with local service providers to create a referral basis for long-term care for crime survivors in need.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per weekWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week after the successful completion of a 6-month probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Additional pay will be considered for those who currently possess or obtain licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, or Professional Counselor issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Counselors.
