Overview
We are seeking a licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. This role involves providing comprehensive mental health services, including psychotherapy, case management, and crisis intervention, to diverse patient populations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral health, experience working with children, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism, and proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Duties
- Conduct patient assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and intake interviews to determine individual treatment needs
- Provide evidence-based psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and crisis intervention
- Deliver specialized counseling for PTSD, addiction, anxiety, depression, geriatrics, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and family counseling to support patient recovery and family dynamics
- Manage patient care plans through case management and coordinate services across home and community settings
- Document clinical encounters accurately using EMR systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards
- Participate in clinical research projects related to mental health treatments and behavioral health outcomes
- Collaborate with medical professionals on diagnostic coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medication management when applicable
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with mental health practices and research advancements
Experience
- Licensed as an LPC or LCSW with valid certification/license in the relevant state
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, behavioral health, or social work settings
- Experience working with children, families, individuals with disabilities, or autism spectrum disorder preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems and medical records management - Athena
- Knowledge of clinical research methodologies and data collection techniques is advantageous
- Background in hospital or community care environments is a plus
- Skills in crisis management, trauma-informed care, psychopharmacology understanding, and working within HIPAA guidelines are highly desirable
- Experience providing specialized services such as addiction counseling, pediatric mental health care, or Alzheimer’s/dementia care is beneficial
