The Respiratory Therapist (Reg) performs both therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care services necessary to improve and/or maintain an adequate oxygenation/acid-base balance. The Therapist will develop and collaborate patient care with healthcare staff and physicians. The Therapist will practice compliance with standard policies and procedures.
- Provides respiratory care to patients for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes
- Develops, implements, and/or adjusts orders based on patient assessment and patient response to therapy
- Provides scheduled and emergency therapy and/or diagnostic tests to patients/clients per policy and standard procedures
- Maintains accountability for patient care delegated or scheduled to others
- Communicates patient/family health care needs to the appropriate health care provider
- Provides accurate and timely documentation in patient care records per policy and standard procedures
- Communicates directly with appropriate health care team as needed
- Participates in team conferences and/or care coordination activities as needed
Education:
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
Experience:
- N/A
Licensure:
- Respiratory Care Practitioner or temporary permit issued by the MS State board of Health
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
All phases of respiratory care

- Assessment and care of patients with cardio-pulmonary disorders
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
