Job Description and Requirements

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

Licensing Requirements:

1. Valid LMFT License: Each LMFT must hold a current, valid California LMFT license, compliant with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

2. Valid BLS Certification

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: At least 12 months of recent, relevant experience (internship experience excluded).

Education: Completion of an accredited master's program in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Service Delivery Requirements:

The temporary or relief LMFT must work under the supervision of a Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker. Core responsibilities include:

Clinical Treatment: Conducting assessments, brief counseling, individual and group therapy, especially in cognitive-behavioral therapy for substance use disorders.

Care Coordination: Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams for patient care planning and community resource linkage for those being released.

Documentation: Regularly updating patient records, documenting progress, and contributing to discharge and transfer planning.

Meetings and Coordination: Attending required meetings, training, and collaborating with other staff, including institutional rehabilitative partners and custody staff.

This position is centered on therapeutic intervention, patient assessment, and collaborative care within the correctional environment, emphasizing regulatory compliance and active licensure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62.00 - $65.00 per hour
