Purple Recovery Center is a long-standing, active recovery community focused on helping men build lasting sobriety through structure, accountability, and lifestyle balance. With over 20 years of proven success, we blend evidence-based treatment with an active, engaging culture that includes fitness, recreation, and sober lifestyle events. Our team values flexibility, teamwork, and authenticity — we believe recovery should be both meaningful and enjoyable.

Position Overview

We’re seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor or Therapist to join our Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs. The ideal candidate has experience working in the substance abuse field, enjoys being part of a dynamic, male-only environment, and thrives in a culture that values activity, connection, and real-life recovery.

You’ll provide individual and group therapy, support relapse prevention planning, and collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to guide clients toward long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

* Facilitate group therapy sessions for men in PHP and IOP levels of care

* Conduct individual counseling sessions focused on recovery goals, relapse prevention, and life skills

* Complete treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in a timely manner

* Participate in team meetings and coordinate with case management and support staff

* Engage with clients during lifestyle and community activities that promote wellness and connection

* Maintain ethical and professional standards aligned with state and program guidelines

Qualifications

* Required:

* Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in substance abuse or mental health counseling

* Licensed or working toward licensure (LAPC, LPC, LCSW, LMSW, or CADC, CAC1 preferred)

* Ability to connect well in a male-focused environment

* Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills

* Preferred:

* Experience in PHP/IOP levels of care

* Familiarity with active recovery or experiential treatment models

Flexible full-time or part-time scheduling

* Supportive, fun, and collaborative work environment

* Opportunities for professional growth and supervision

* A culture that values health, activity, and genuine connection

* Competitive pay based on experience and licensure

If you’re passionate about helping men build strong, healthy lives in recovery — and want to work in a program that values both structure and fun — we’d love to hear from you.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Benefits:
