Position Overview:

Educates, supports and provides chemical dependency services from assessment through continuing care, applying clinical and management skills to achieve optimal clinical outcomes in individual, group, and family modalities.

Job Description:

EDUCATION:

  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma

  • Bachelor's: psychology, counseling, or related field


CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

  • CCBCDC-Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor

  • OR CADC-Certified Alcohol Dependency Counselor

  • OR SUDCC-Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor

  • OR CATC-Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Working knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness training, and a capacity to work with patients attending other Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) programs.

  • Knowledge of traditional psychotherapy, incorporating both behavioral/ cognitive behavioral strategies and traditional psychodynamic therapy, and Family Therapy.

  • Demonstrate knowledge in the areas of child and adult development and pathology, abuse, drug/alcohol abuse and parenting.

  • Have a working knowledge of principles in changing behavior.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill in applying an integrated approach to treatment in individual, group and family therapy.

  • Demonstrate leadership abilities and possess an interdependent style in working with others.

  • Promote effective communication with all sources of contact within the organization (administration, staff, and clients) and at various agency and community levels.

  • Possess good organizational skills.

Pay Range is $39.13 to $52.82 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
