Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Adoption Social Worker to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in the adoption process, working closely with pregnant individuals and families to learn about the process of adoption and placement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work and experience in child welfare, particularly in adoption and working with individuals with diverse socio-economic needs.
Duties
- Provide guidance and support to families throughout the adoption process, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Assist biological families/parents in connecting with social support programs including Medicaid, health services, SNAP and other programs
- Explore open adoption with families
- Collaborate with child protective services and other agencies to ensure the best interests of the child are prioritized.
- Coordinate with hospital staff for care and discharge
- Provide reunification services for adoptees
- Provide individual therapy to adoptive parents, adoptees and birth parents
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to each case, adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in social work and adoption.
Requirements
- Master's degree in social work or related field.
- Experience working with children and families, particularly in child welfare or childcare settings.
- Knowledge of adoption processes and regulations.
- Familiarity with child protective services and resources available for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
