Annual Salary: $70k – $85k (varies depending on years of experience)
A licensed Mental Health Therapist is sought to join a short-term, voluntary Intensive Crisis Residence program that supports adults experiencing acute psychiatric challenges. The program’s goal is to provide stabilization, therapeutic intervention, and structured support to help residents safely transition back to community living.
This role involves crisis assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic services in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical judgment, compassion, and the ability to engage clients through evidence-based, trauma-informed care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct crisis evaluations, risk assessments, and diagnostic screenings to guide individualized treatment planning.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy to residents, utilizing approaches that promote stabilization and recovery.
- Develop, implement, and document comprehensive treatment and discharge plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with nursing, psychiatric, and case management staff to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and supervision sessions to support coordinated service delivery.
- Facilitate skill-building and psychoeducational groups that enhance coping and relapse-prevention strategies.
- Support client reintegration by coordinating aftercare and community linkages.
- Contribute to a safe and therapeutic environment through consistent communication and de-escalation skills.
Qualifications
- NYS licensure as a Social Worker (LMSW/LCSW), Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Psychologist (Ph.D./Psy.D.) required.
- Minimum one year of clinical experience working with adults in a mental health or crisis stabilization setting.
- Strong assessment, engagement, and communication skills.
- CASAC credential or experience addressing co-occurring substance use disorders required.
- Commitment to trauma-informed, person-centered care.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
