Job summary:

The BCaBA will provide support to individuals and their families by coordinating and providing support services in Applied Behavior Analysis, function analyses and assessment, behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, and adaptive life skills. All BCaBAs essential functions will be provided under the supervision of a BCBA. A BCaBA will also oversee programming of and RBTs and provide ongoing support and supervision as it relates to the implementation and documentation associated with Behavior Support Plans.

What would you be doing?

  • Maintain a caseload of clinical supervision for ABA treatment programs, involving treatment design and modification, ongoing analyses, progress reporting, and ensuring treatment fidelity.
  • Conduct Behavioral Assessments and assist with the development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)/Behavior Support Plans (BSP).
  • Attend and collaborate with student IEPs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans when needed (e.g., goals, objectives, and interventions).
  • Provide direct treatment to children with Autism.
  • Providing training and support to caregivers, teachers, and other professionals involved in the individual's care. Collaborating with the BCBA and other team members to ensure consistent and effective implementation of behavior interventions.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of assessments, interventions, and progress reports
  • Measure and monitor child progress towards behavioral goals.
  • Collaborate with other related service providers in the organization to optimize the overall program and progress of the student.
  • Work with parents to maintain consistency in implementing behavioral interventions.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BCaBAs must hold a bachelor’s degree and BCaBA certification.
  • Knowledge of ABA principles: A BCaBA should have a strong understanding of the principles and concepts of applied behavior analysis. They should be familiar with various ABA techniques, such as reinforcement strategies, data collection methods, behavior reduction techniques, and skill acquisition procedures.
  • Clinical and assessment skills: A BCaBA should possess strong clinical skills, including the ability to conduct assessments, analyze behavior patterns, and develop effective behavior intervention plans. They should be proficient in using assessment tools and interpreting assessment results.
  • Communication and collaboration: A BCaBA needs excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, families, and other professionals. They should be able to explain ABA concepts and strategies in a clear and understandable manner and provide guidance and support to the individuals they work with.
  • Ethical standards: BCaBAs are expected to adhere to ethical guidelines set by the BACB. They should demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and respect for client confidentiality. They should also stay updated with the latest research and best practices in the field of behavior analysis.

Physical Requirements: Physical demands: Under normal circumstances the employee will need to have the physical capacity to continuously use his/her hands for simple and firm grasping and fine manipulation. The employee may be required to do the following:

  • Must be able to maintain and assume a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing)
  • Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must have manual dexterity in order to perform specific electronic functions for session notes/data collection.
  • Lift/carry 40 lbs
  • Push / Pull up to 25 lbs
