Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our mental health team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various psychiatric practices, and experience working with diverse populations. This role involves providing comprehensive mental health care assessments and medical opinions but no treatment. The Psychiatrist will work in an outpatient setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine mental health needs including PTSD, Depression, military sexual trauma, anxiety, eating disorders.
- Perform medical opinion writing as the subject matter for mental health claims.
- Mental health examinations are a one-time, no treatment examinations
- Manage medication regimens through psychopharmacology, ensuring proper patient care and monitoring for side effects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care for patients with developmental disabilities, PTSD, addiction issues, and geriatric populations.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Engage in data collection to evaluate treatment effectiveness and improve patient outcomes.
- Provide telehealth services to enhance accessibility for patients unable to attend in-person appointments.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in behavioral health.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of psychiatry principles and practices, including outpatient and inpatient care.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with addiction counseling techniques and crisis intervention strategies.
- Proficient in mental health counseling methods and patient care protocols.
- Ability to perform intake assessments and maintain detailed medical documentation using appropriate medical terminology.
- Experience with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy approaches.
- Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation processes for various mental health disorders.
- Understanding of the unique needs of geriatric patients within the psychiatric framework.
