Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting the social, emotional, and academic success of our students. This role involves providing comprehensive social work services that address barriers to learning and promote a positive school environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Develop and implement intervention plans to support students' well-being and academic success.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create supportive learning environments.
  • Advocate for students' needs and connect them with community resources.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of services provided.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in school social work.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CTDOE) certification in School Social Work.
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of child development and effective social work practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and supportive environment for students.
  • Commitment to continuous professional growth and development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a diverse and inclusive educational setting.
  • Familiarity with the NASW Standards for School Social Work Services.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention and conflict resolution strategies.
