Peer Support Specialist – Full-Time

Ojai Recovery is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.

The ideal candidate will hold active Peer Support Specialist certification through CalMHSA and bring lived experience, training, and professional expertise in supporting individuals with both mental health and substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer-to-peer support, encouragement, and mentorship to clients in recovery
• Assist clients in navigating services, treatment options, and community resources
• Share lived experience in a professional and ethical manner to inspire hope and model recovery
• Work collaboratively with clinical and medical staff to support individualized treatment goals
• Facilitate groups and one-on-one peer sessions grounded in evidence-based recovery practices
• Maintain appropriate documentation in compliance with program and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Current CalMHSA Peer Support Specialist Certification required
• Experience working with individuals managing both mental health and substance use disorders
• Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships
• Familiarity with recovery-oriented systems of care and evidence-based approaches
• Ability to maintain boundaries, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times
