About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Child and Adult Psychiatrist to provide clinical oversight and collaborative support to a team of 2–3 Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners in an outpatient mental health setting. This contract role is ideal for a psychiatrist passionate about integrated care, team leadership, and improving access to quality behavioral health services.Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical supervision and consultation to Nurse Practitioners managing child, adolescent, and adult caseloads.
  • Review and approve diagnostic assessments, treatment plans, and medication management protocols.
  • Participate in monthly case reviews, quality assurance meetings, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, Medicaid guidelines, and ethical standards of psychiatric care.
  • Serve as a resource for complex cases, crisis intervention planning, and psychopharmacological guidance.
Qualifications
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and/or General Psychiatry.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in outpatient or community mental health.
  • Experience supervising or collaborating with Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid Managed Care, CMS guidelines, and documentation standards.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of Texas Medicaid, HHSC/OIG, and MCO protocols (e.g., Wellpoint, Superior, Texas Children’s Health Plan).
  • Experience with telepsychiatry platforms and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
