Job Summary
The Community Support Specialist provides one-on-one and small group support to youth ages 3–21 enrolled in the OhioRISE program. Working in homes, daycares, schools, and community settings, the Specialist helps children practice coping skills, build independence, and achieve the goals outlined in their OhioRISE Care Plan. This role is focused on guiding youth through safe, positive experiences while offering relief and support to families.

Duties

  • Implement strategies and activities from each youth’s individualized OhioRISE Care Plan.
  • Provide behavioral support in homes, daycares, schools, and community environments.
  • Teach and model coping skills, social interaction, and positive behavior.
  • Supervise and engage youth in safe, structured daily routines.
  • Support participation in community activities that promote growth and independence.
  • Maintain accurate daily documentation of services, progress, and observations.
  • Communicate effectively with families, Care Coordinators, and supervisors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience working with children, youth, or behavioral health is preferred.
  • Associate’s degree in social work, psychology, education, or a related field is highly valued.
  • Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable transportation to travel within the community. (must have current vehicle insurance)
  • Must pass a background check and complete OhioRISE-required training.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
