Position Summary:
The Discharge Coordinator provides exceptional patient service, both in person and over the phone. This position requires a professional and warm presence while caring for our patients post surgery.

Responsibilities:

  • Notifies and updates the accompanying adult- provide real time updates by calling family members.
  • Places family member/ accompanying adult into a discharge room for the doctors and discharge nurse.
  • Making sure the patient has all their belongings.
  • Assists nursing staff with discharging paitent via wheelchair to their vehicle.
  • Cleans discharge rooms and wheelchairs daily.
  • Ensures all discharge rooms are stocked with snacks and refrigerators are stocked with drinks at the end of the day.
  • Records all refrigerator temperatures in the temp log.
  • Assists with telephone calls, taking any messages and following up with the patient afterwards if needed
  • Assists the front desk staff and surgical team to ensure the flow runs smoothly
Qualifications:
Education:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Certificate

Required Skills:

  • Strong desire to assist others and provide excellent customer service
  • Must be highly dependable and organized
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • An impeccably clean, polished, professional image
  • Must possess reliable transportation
  • The ability to learn quickly, retain training, problem solve and think independently
