Position Overview

Parents Anonymous® Inc. is seeking a dedicated Community Engagement Specialist to support family engagement services and facilitate evidence-based group programs within the Community and Family Resource Center (CFRC). This role is responsible for recruiting participants, conducting assessments, facilitating groups, and linking families to vital services that promote mental health, well-being, and community connection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in family engagement services to serve a minimum of 800 unduplicated individuals annually, addressing social determinants of health and mental well-being.
  • Recruit program participants into the CFRC program.
  • Facilitate Weekly Evidence-Based Parents Anonymous® Children Groups to ensure Model Fidelity.
  • Conduct basic needs assessments and service plans for at least 80% of participants, ensuring 50% are successfully linked to needed services.
  • Foster partnerships with community-based organizations to expand linkages and resources.
  • Encourage families and individuals to utilize the Helpline for emotional support and Parents Anonymous® Groups.
  • Participate in outreach and engagement events (virtual and in-person) to promote overall well-being and highlight community strengths.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, children, youth, and community partners, including churches and social service agencies.
  • Input all required data into the data collection system accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Achieve weekly and monthly productivity goals for all services.
  • Complete 80 hours of Medi-Cal Certified Peer Support Specialist Training and pass the State Certification Exam within 60 days of employment.
  • Report any crisis matters immediately to Program leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • MUST VERIFY THAT YOU ARE A PEER (WITH LIVED EXPERIENCE): A Peer is an individual who is self-identified as having lived experience with the process of recovery from mental illness, substance use disorder, or both, either as a consumer of these services or as the parent or family member of the consumer.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years of peer support, mental health, or social services experience.
  • Bilingual in English and other languages spoken in Supervisorial District One preferred.
  • Must work two evenings per week and some weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license and car insurance required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and community relationship skills.
  • Commitment to the mission, vision, and best practices of Parents Anonymous® Inc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
