A K-12 School in Dearborn, MI is seeking a qualified Social Worker to provide essential support services during a leave contract duration. This role focuses on addressing the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students, collaborating with educators, families, and community resources to promote a positive school environment and student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop intervention plans
- Provide individual and group counseling for students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student well-being
- Connect students and families with community resources and services
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records in compliance with legal and ethical standards
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure or certification as a School Social Worker or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Experience working in K-12 educational settings preferred
- Strong understanding of child development, mental health issues, and school policies
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse student populations
- Ability to manage case loads and work collaboratively within a team environment
