A school-based social worker position is available to support elementary students by addressing personal, behavioral, and social challenges that impact their academic performance and well-being. This contract role, located in Clinton Township, MI, offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of general education students through counseling, intervention, and collaboration within the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling to students facing psychological and personal issues affecting school performance and socialization.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, workshops, prevention programs, and intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with students, teachers, and administrators to identify behavioral and emotional concerns and determine appropriate support.
- Maintain detailed case files and reports to monitor student progress and outcomes.
- Connect students and families experiencing abuse, violence, hunger, or homelessness with essential community resources such as shelters, food banks, and medical care.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school personnel, and external support services to foster comprehensive student support.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Social Work.
- Valid 310 Social Worker Endorsement.
- Experience working with school-aged children in a counseling or social work capacity is preferred.
