The Emerge Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the community by empowering children with autism and individuals with communication challenges to achieve independence through innovative and family-centered therapies.


Position Overview:


We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Intake Coordinator to join our team. The Intake Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient intake process for new clients and their families. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.




Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Track all incoming referrals and disseminate to the correct professional for follow-up.

  • Initiate, monitor, and complete the phone screen/intake process for speech, occupational, Applied Behavior Analysis therapy and Behavioral Health referrals in a timely manner.

  • Maintain accurate records regarding intakes and services.

  • Assist with coordination of scheduling Intakes for Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy services.

  • Provide families with information regarding applicable resources, both internal and external.

  • Orient new clients regarding group speech and occupational therapy services upon their first visit as needed.

  • Corresponds with referring physician offices when clarification is required for requested services

  • Maintain a healthy working relationship with other staff members to ensure continuity of care for Emerge clients


Essential Job Functions:



  • Regular attendance

  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis, sit and use a computer for a long period of time.

  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English via email, phone, and in person

  • Ability to access, accurately input, and retrieve information from a computer

  • Ability to learn third party scheduling system

  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude when working under deadlines

  • Ability to meet departmental benchmarks

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others




Additional responsibilities may be added at any given time in order to help maintain efficient workflow for the Center.



Must pass state and federal background checks.Must pass a drug test.
