Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Counselor to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care settings, including assisted living and community homes, and will be committed to promoting the well-being and dignity of each resident. This role involves direct support to residents with intellectual disabilities, ensuring their needs are met while fostering a positive community atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to residents, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Administer medications as prescribed, monitoring residents for any side effects or changes in condition.
  • Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
  • Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines and individual preferences.
  • Uphold resident rights by advocating for their needs and preferences within the community.
  • Assist with memory care programs tailored to residents experiencing cognitive challenges.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of resident care plans, progress notes, and any incidents that occur.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each resident.
Experience

  • Previous experience in residential counseling or similar roles within assisted living, nursing homes, or home community care is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocols and memory care best practices is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with resident rights and senior care regulations is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and staff members.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality care while respecting the dignity of all individuals.
