Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm (follow Broward County Public School Calendar)

Position Summary:

The Aftercare Counselor provides supervision, mentorship, and support to students participating in our after-school enrichment and care program. The Counselor is responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing environment and engaging students in constructive activities until they are picked up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students in the aftercare program, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Plan, lead, and participate in recreational, educational, and enrichment activities (indoor and outdoor).
  • Assist students with homework and encourage positive study habits.
  • Maintain order and enforce rules with fairness and consistency.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors and parent/guardians (when necessary).
  • Maintain accurate daily attendance and incident records.
  • Help with snacks and cleanup.
  • Support the social and emotional growth of students.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (some college or relevant coursework preferred)
  • Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Background check required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
