Position Summary:
The Aftercare Counselor provides supervision, mentorship, and support to students participating in our after-school enrichment and care program. The Counselor is responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing environment and engaging students in constructive activities until they are picked up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise students in the aftercare program, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Plan, lead, and participate in recreational, educational, and enrichment activities (indoor and outdoor).
- Assist students with homework and encourage positive study habits.
- Maintain order and enforce rules with fairness and consistency.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors and parent/guardians (when necessary).
- Maintain accurate daily attendance and incident records.
- Help with snacks and cleanup.
- Support the social and emotional growth of students.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college or relevant coursework preferred)
- Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Background check required.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $13.00 per hour
