Qualifications:
  • Illinois Professional Educator License with State of Illinois Licensure (LSW, LCSW)
  • Minimum 2 years of successful teaching experience preferred or relevant coursework within the last 3 years
  • Comprehensive knowledge, understanding, and skill in content area/assignment
  • Knowledge and experience with Google suite
  • Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities:
  • Provide crisis intervention
  • Serve as consultant to educational staff
  • Serve on Student Support Team including coordination of tiered social emotional and behavioral supports
  • Participate in identification and diagnosis of student issues
  • Provide individual and group counseling in social, emotional and behavioral issues for both special education and general education students
  • Coordinate registration for students classified as McKinney Vento
  • Provide referrals and collaboration with community agencies
  • Collaborate in development of behavioral intervention plans
  • Conduct social developmental assessments
  • Serve on individual building Social Emotional Learning (SEL) committee and district SEL Steering Committee
  • Provide leadership and support of building SEL initiatives
  • Lead/facilitate SEL/behavior side of MTSS
  • Function as liaison with school, home, hospital and social agencies
  • Complete Medicaid billing for applicable students
  • Advocate for needs of students and families
  • Respond to requests for social work services from parents, teachers, students and other staff members
  • Supervise and train social work interns as needed
  • Utilize best practices for the application of assistive technology in line with student needs.
  • Performs other tasks and projects as assigned by the Building Administrator/Assistant Superintendent for Special Education
