Nuru Staffing is looking for a caring and compassionate Neuropsychologist to join our team at our Behavior Health Center in Lawrence, MA.
We are seeking a neuropsychologist specializing in autism diagnosis that conducts comprehensive evaluations of individuals suspected of having Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), utilizing standardized tests and clinical observations to assess cognitive abilities, social communication skills, behavioral patterns, and overall functioning, with the goal of providing an accurate diagnosis and informing individualized treatment plans; this often involves collaborating with other healthcare professionals like therapists and educators to develop comprehensive support strategies for the individual with ASD. *Pay is $500 per patient for Autism Diagnosis*
Key aspects of a Neuropsychologist in autism diagnosis:
Conducting detailed assessments: This includes administering standardized tests like the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) to evaluate social interaction, communication, repetitive behaviors, and restricted interests, alongside other cognitive assessments to measure areas like language, memory, and reasoning abilities.
Gathering information from multiple sources: Taking thorough developmental history from parents and caregivers, interviewing teachers or other relevant individuals to gain a holistic understanding of the individual's functioning across different environments.
Interpreting test results: Analyzing data from the assessments to identify patterns of strengths and weaknesses, specifically focusing on areas related to social communication, cognitive abilities, and behavioral characteristics that may be indicative of ASD.
Diagnosing ASD: Based on the comprehensive evaluation, providing a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, considering the severity level and specific presentation of symptoms.
Developing treatment recommendations: Collaborating with other professionals to create a personalized intervention plan that addresses the individual's unique needs, including behavioral therapies, educational supports, and communication strategies.
Important skills: Expertise in ASD assessment tools: Thorough knowledge of standardized tests like the ADOS, ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised), and other relevant assessment measures.
Child development knowledge: Understanding typical developmental milestones and variations to accurately identify potential deviations related to autism.
Observational skills: Ability to carefully observe behaviors and interactions during testing sessions to gather important diagnostic information.
Communication skills: Effectively communicating complex findings to parents, educators, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
