About Job
Child & Adolescent Clinical Supervisor
At Pivotal Counseling Center, we are seeking a Child & Adolescent Clinical Supervisor to guide, support, and inspire our team of clinicians who provide therapy to children as young as 4, adolescents, and their families. If you are deeply committed to both client care and clinician development, this role is for you.
Why Join Us?
At Pivotal Counseling Center, we are dedicated to meeting the needs of our community by making quality mental health services accessible to children, adolescents, and families from all walks of life. As part of this mission, we accept most major insurances and Medicaid, which allows us to serve many who might otherwise go without care. We are looking for a supervisor who not only values this community-driven approach but also understands that working with Medicaid requires thorough documentation, attention to detail, and comfort with additional paperwork requirements.
As a Child & Adolescent Clinical Supervisor, you’ll shape the growth of clinicians who specialize in young clients, ensuring they deliver high-quality, developmentally attuned services while navigating the realities of community-based care.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide one-on-one supervision to clinicians working with children, adolescents, and families.
- Support the professional growth of clinicians through mentorship, modeling, and developmental feedback.
- Lead onboarding, including shadowing and mentoring new hires who will be working with young clients.
- Facilitate case consultations, especially those involving complex child or family dynamics.
- Be available for crisis consultation and parent support when needed.
- Maintain a child/adolescent-focused clinical caseload while fulfilling supervisory responsibilities.
- Ensure supervision and clinical documentation meet ethical, developmental, and agency standards — with an emphasis on Medicaid compliance and accurate record keeping.
- Contribute to hiring, training, and performance evaluations of clinicians serving young clients.
- Foster a collaborative, family-friendly office culture that supports both staff and client well-being.
What We’re Looking For:
- Master’s or doctoral degree in a mental health–related field.
- Licensed in Illinois as an LCPC, LCSW, LMFT or Licensed Psychologist.
- Significant clinical experience with children, adolescents, and families (including play therapy, parent support, or family systems work).
- Previous clinical supervision experience required, with preference for those who have supervised child/adolescent clinicians.
- Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based interventions.
- Ability to guide clinicians in areas such as parent collaboration, school involvement, and age-appropriate interventions.
- Comfort with Medicaid documentation standards, or a willingness to learn, and the ability to mentor clinicians in meeting these requirements.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in working with children and families.
- Strong organizational skills and proficiency in cloud-based applications and EHR systems.
Work Schedule:
- 32 hours of onsite availability, with additional flexibility to work from home. Ideally, this position will be based out of our Woodstock office, but we are open to discussion about a split schedule that includes Woodstock and one of our other locations in Lake in the Hills or Elgin.
- Availability during at least 3 peak times (e.g., evenings and weekends) to meet client needs.
- Caseload of ~20–24 clients per week in addition to supervision (flexible depending on supervisee numbers).
- Participation in community events, networking opportunities, and clinical leadership meetings as needed.
What We Offer:
- Compensation is commensurate with licensure level (Master’s vs. Doctoral).
- Annual performance bonuses available for ambitious clinicians who exceed caseload requirements.
- W-2 salary-based position.
- Opportunity to lead and grow within a supportive, mission-driven organization.
- A dynamic, collaborative work environment where your expertise makes a real impact.
- Ongoing professional development and continuing education opportunities.
- Full-time benefits include 3 weeks PTO, 6 paid holidays, medical, dental, vision, Simple IRA, AFLAC, Short-term Disability, and Life Insurance.
Join us at Pivotal Counseling Center, where your leadership in child and adolescent care will not only help shape the next generation of clinicians but also make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families in our community.
