Job Overview – Addiction Counselor (CASAC):

Compensation: $30/hour

Location: Bronx, NY

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Onsite)


Make a lasting impact as an Addiction Counselor (CASAC) with our client in the Bronx, NY. You will conduct substance use assessments, develop and update treatment plans, and provide individual, family, and group counseling. In this role, you will advocate for clients by connecting them to community resources, promoting harm reduction strategies, and supporting long-term recovery.


Responsibilities as the Addiction Counselor (CASAC):

  • Assessment & Service Planning: Conduct initial and annual substance use assessments and collaborate with clients and staff to create and update treatment plans.
  • Counseling: Lead individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on recovery, relapse prevention, and harm reduction.
  • Advocacy & Referrals: Connect clients to community resources, inpatient treatment, and supportive programs to promote long-term recovery.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of all services, interactions, and progress in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in meetings, workshops, and case conferences to coordinate care and strengthen service delivery.


Qualifications for the Addiction Counselor (CASAC):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Certification: Active CASAC or CASAC-T credential is required.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in substance abuse counseling, preferably in community-based settings.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic documentation systems.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of substance abuse principles, treatment modalities, and community resources.
  • Skills & Attributes: Excellent communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred.
