Social Worker needed for full-time, permanent position in Northeastern Queens.
This role will:
This position is fully on-site working regular business hours plus work on an occassional weekend or evening when staff are needed to help out with special events for the clients.
Clinical supervision is provided and there are good professional advancement opportunities and benefits, including free pool membership and CEUs. Occassional home visits (less than once a month).
Annual Salary Range: $62,000-$70,000.
Position Requirements
LMSW is required, but will also consider a new MSW graduate (graduated within the past 12 months) without a license but they will need to pass the licensing exam within 6 months of hire.
Requires some experience working with older adults.
Owning a car is not required, but extremely helpful.

This role will:
- Function as part of a multidisciplinary team providing programs and services for adults aged 60+
- Meet with potential new members to explain services available and recommend best programming to meet their interests and needs
- Register new clients, completes initial and follow-up assessments, and documents accordingly in NYC Aging's (formerly the Department for the Aging - DFTA) database (STARS Peer Place)
- Maintain updated member files in the database as well as paper charts, in accordance with NYC Aging's standards and requirements
- Develop and maintain a resource file of current benefits, entitlements, services and programs relevant to the older adult population; assists with completion of applications and forms, and makes referrals as needed
- Create and facilitate recreational, educational, cultural, socialization and/or support groups
- Conduct and document outcomes of friendly visiting (home visits), telephone reassurance calls, in-person and telephonic information and referrals, and other case assistance activities
- Assist with the lunch program as needed
- Participate in program development, planning of special events, and contributes content for the Older Adult Services' departmental newsletter.
