This is a full-time position that will serve Part-time as the School Counseling Supervisor and Part-time as a Mental Health Counselor. The School Counseling Supervisor oversees outpatient counseling services provided by professional counseling staff in school environments. The Mental Health Counselor will provide assessment and individual/group counseling sessions to ensure the behavioral health needs of those needing such services are effectively and efficiently
served.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise staff who serve as counselors in school settings
- Assist with supervision of staff for licensure purposes as appropriate
- Assist with Open Access and the initial referral process
- Complete assessment with diagnosis to explain medical necessity of treatment
- Help clients define goals, plan action and gain insight
- Encourage clients to discuss/examine emotions and experiences
- Work with families
- Help clients achieve identified goals
- Develop therapeutic processes
- Refer clients to other necessary services
- Work with individuals, groups and communities to improve behavioral health
- Take a holistic approach to behavioral health care
- Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner
- Complete other duties as required by the position and/or as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer
Qualifications
- Education - Minimum of Master Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related health field.
- Specialized Knowledge and Experience - Must possess professional license to perform counseling in the State of Missouri
- Skills/Abilities - Organization. Effective oral and written communication. Leadership.
Working Conditions
General Conditions - Work is generally performed in office type settings where answering phone and using computers and other technology should be expected.

Physical Requirements
General Conditions- Job duties may require sitting or standing for long periods of time. Travel, with some trips requiring several hours in a vehicle, should be expected. Minor lifting and moving may be expected requiring ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
