As an Enhanced Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities or special needs. Qualifications

Must have one of the following certifications or degrees:

• NADD Competency Based Clinical Certification
• NADD Competency Based Dual Diagnosis
• NADD Competency Based Direct Support Professional Certification
• Registered Behavior Technician
• Certified Nursing Assistant or Registered Nurses Aide
• Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Gerontology or Therapeutic Recreation.

Duties

• Assists individuals in learning and developing new skills that will enhance opportunities for independence and inclusion. Support may occur in the home of the individual, or out in the community.
• Assists with attaining independence goals as described in the individual’s ISP to progress with their independence as adults.
• Produces accurate documentation of the services delivered. Documents care provided and response of the consumer/family. Submits time sheets and all other documentation in a timely manner.
• Performs all duties in an ethical manner and in compliance with local, state and federal laws, Medicare/Medicaid regulations and established personnel policies and procedures, including confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.

Skills

• Previous experience in direct support or patient care is preferred but not required.
• Strong observational skills to effectively monitor participant well-being and report changes accurately.
• Proficient in providing direct support tailored to individual needs.
• Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy for individuals with disabilities.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members.
• Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of those you support.
