As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Virginia Beach Counseling Services, you will play an important role in delivering quality mental health care, including outpatient counseling sessions in an in office, and in a virtual setting. You will provide therapeutic support, facilitate group discussions, and contribute to treatment planning and implementation. You will be empowered to create clinical programs in your specialty, learn about other specialties, and share your knowledge with the clinical team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, tailored to the needs of a diverse client population.
- Provide education and support to clients in managing their mental health.
- Document and maintain accurate client records in our EHR in compliance with ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and practice timelines.
- Practice within state, federal, and provincial laws/regulations and professional ethical standards, including following HIPAA and (42 CFR pt 2) CRF regulations.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance professional skills and meet CEU requirements as well as attend staff meetings.
- Commit to a minimum of 12 clinical hours per week for a part-time status or 24 clinical hours for a full-time status
- Master’s degree in counseling from an accredited counseling program is required.
- Virginia LPC License.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
- Experience in providing therapy and working with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of therapeutic methods and techniques for outpatient settings.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and adhere to all confidentiality requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
