Key Holder, Part- time 

Cocomelon Playdate

Mall of America, MN

Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour 


What is the Role?: We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative part-time Key Holder to play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the Cocomelon Playdate and Retail store. The Key Holder will work closely with our management team to help support and execute seamless operations, visuals, exceptional guest service, and a strong company culture with their team. 


Guest Experience: 

  • You are the leader of fun! Your goal everyday is to create the best experience for our young guests and their families, in Cocomelon land there is no such thing as a bad day! 
  • Inspiring your team as a Key Holder. You lead the way in showing our play leaders how to provide the best customer experience.  
  • Contributes in creating an inclusive, respectful, positive workplace

Leadership & Team Development: 

  • Acts as the liaison between sales associates (play leaders) and the management team. Key Holders should be the first point of contact before escalating to management. 
  • Key Holders are the main contributors to a positive team environment and making the workplace a fun place to be.
  • Leader in creating an inclusive, respectful, positive workplace to increase employee retention. 
  • Inspiring your team as a leader in the store, always leading by example
  • Creating a team that is flexible and open to change. 
  • A leader in team training and team development.
  • Knows when to escalate sensitive matters to the management team.


Operations & Visuals: 

  • Assists with retail store management: guest service, operations, store visuals, inventory, loss prevention, opening and closing procedures, store team training and coaching, maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Ability to open and close the store as the acting leader for the store team.
  • Assists with play center management: high level of guest experience expectations, safety and health procedures, ticketing management, point of sale operations.
  • Managing breaks, 10s, 30s and ensuring each essential role (ticketing, retail, check) always has coverage 
  • Initiating the maintenance and upkeep of the experience
  • Gathering information and documenting employee and guest incidents when management is not available.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and initiative in supporting costume character roles and guides, with a strong willingness and ability to step into either role and quickly learn the responsibilities involved.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively manage and execute ticketing tasks as part of daily operations.


Communication: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You are the person each associate should check in with before they go to they leave the space (breaks, bathroom, clock outs.
  • Daily and weekly recaps of store and experience highlights and areas of opportunity
  • Quick responses to emails and messaging apps 
  • Open and honest communication with all members of the team and upper management
  • Collaborate with team members through games, activities, contests, employee of the month etc.
  • Is open to feedback and is comfortable giving feedback when necessary


Requirements: 

  • 1-3 years of customer service and/or entry level management in one or more of the following fields: retail, hospitality, family entertainment centers. 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and can lawfully work in the United States.
  • Flexible schedule available to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Passionate about working with young children and their families, making every minute count. 
  • Expertly organized with high level of detail 
  • Time management expert
  • Solution oriented 
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude 
  • Must be able to lift or carry items weighing between 0-50 pounds 
  • Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, walk, and squat during scheduled shifts. 
  • Bi-lingual is a plus 
  • Consent to a background check after job offer is extended
