About the Role
As an Outpatient Counselor, you will facilitate group and individual treatment services, conduct assessments, support patient recovery, and ensure timely documentation in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards. You will play a critical role in helping individuals explore and address the issues surrounding their substance use, all within a supportive and structured therapeutic environment.
What You’ll Do
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions (IOP, OP-Level 1, DUII, and telehealth) and conduct ASAM assessments for patient admissions and care updates
  • Create and maintain individualized treatment plans, and provide support and education to DUII/Diversion patients
  • Collect and document urine drug screens in compliance with clinical and legal standards
  • Ensure accurate, timely clinical documentation and maintain compliance with OAR, ASAM, CARF, and organizational policies
  • Engage patients through outreach when absent, and communicate care updates with the clinical team
  • Participate in staff meetings, ongoing training, and uphold all clinic protocols and professional standards
  • Supervise and support Counselor-in-Training or Practicum Students through guidance, task oversight, and performance reviews (If applicable)
What We’re Looking For
  • CADC-R or higher (or equivalent national certification/license), required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in substance use disorder treatment, preferred
  • Familiarity with ASAM criteria, OARs, and CARF standards strongly, preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen (Serenity Lane is a Cannabis THC-free workplace)
