Summary of Performance Expectations
Provides non-nursing safety and security appropriate to the age of the patients served, incorporating principles of therapeutic verbal and physical intervention. Able to develop constructive and cooperative relationships with others, and maintain them over time.
Demonstrates ability to maintain composure and control of emotions and avoid aggressive behavior, even in difficult and high stress situations.
Education and Credentials:
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required within three months of employment date.
- Crisis Intervention Certification within one month of employment date and renewed at least bi-annually for the first year and annually thereafter.
Preferred:

Required:
No previous experience required. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of job within three months of employment date.
Preferred:
One or more years of related experience in psychiatry or related human service field.
