Temporary Clinician – Detox Program
Location: Worcester, Massachusetts (On Site)
Employment Type: Temporary through December

About the Role

Arbor Associates is seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinician to join our client's Detox team. In this role, you’ll provide critical support to adults navigating substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. From intake assessments through ongoing counseling, you’ll help clients stabilize, set goals, and access the resources they need to move forward in recovery.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct eligibility screenings, intake assessments, and follow-up evaluations to inform individualized treatment planning.

  • Perform bio-psychosocial assessments, diagnostic formulations, and make treatment recommendations.

  • Provide individual counseling to help clients achieve treatment goals.

  • Develop treatment plans that highlight client strengths with clear, measurable objectives; maintain documentation and progress notes in line with department standards.

  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team (including recovery coaches, nurses, and psychiatrists) to coordinate care.

  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and utilization management processes.

  • Support accreditation standards (CARF) and contribute to re-accreditation efforts as needed.

  • Build relationships with outside agencies and community resources to strengthen client recovery and ensure care coordination.


Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.

  • Independent licensure in Massachusetts as a LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist.

  • Strong diagnostic and risk assessment skills using current, evidence-based tools.

  • Ability to design and implement measurable, behaviorally focused treatment plans.

  • Clinical expertise in working with adults facing substance use disorders and co-occurring severe mental illness.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual skills.

  • At least one year of behavioral health or addiction treatment experience.
