Who We Are Looking For:
Are you the Professional Level Residential Counselor we have been looking for? In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with the individuals we serve!
Berkshire Meadows offers multiple services and programs for individuals with complex and significant medical, intellectual and developmental differences. Programs include a 365-day-a-year residential school for students between the ages of 6 and 21, residential and day habilitation programs for adults, and 24/7 nursing and medical services. Berkshire Meadows operates both in community settings and at a beautiful campus with state-of-the-art equipment and therapy animals, as well as a fully accessible indoor pool.

Salary: $21/hr


Sign-on Bonus: We are offering a $3,000 sign on bonus ($1,000 paid at time of hire, $1,000 paid after 3months of employment and another $1,000 paid after 6 months).

Due to the nature of our work and the youth who are depending on us, there are times where overtime may be mandated.
JRI Provides The Training So That:
  • YOU will implement trauma informed treatment strategies within the milieu using the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) model.
  • YOU will provide therapeutic interventions to assist students in attaining the goals and objectives on their Individualized Action Plans.
  • YOU will assist the students in following the daily program schedule, including meals, homework, recreation, housekeeping, chores, and ADLs.
  • YOU will assist youth by instruction, modeling, and practicing of written/verbal processing relating to behavioral choices and responses.
  • YOU will support students who are newly admitted to the program by providing 1:1 scaffolding and support as needed to ensure successful integration into programming.
  • YOU will support students who are preparing for discharge. This may include, but is not limited to medication administration, exercise and nutrition training, community integration, human rights advocacy, social and life-skills training, as well as educational and life planning.
  • YOU will provide classroom support as scheduled. Assist students in achieving academic goals through understanding of IEPs, implementation of interventions, and assistance with classwork.
  • YOU will collaborate within a multi-disciplinary educational team to facilitate the development and implementation of individualized education plans that provide for individual educational support to include, but not limited to, differentiated instruction, classroom accommodations, and adaptive services.

Requirements:
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • A Bachelor's degree in psychology or social work is required.
  • Applicants must be able to provide verification of employment authorization.
  • At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our youth!
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.
