Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Specialist to join our team. We need two 5-hour shifts per week (at least 10 hours/week), from 9:00am-3:00pm, on Thursdays and Fridays.

In this role, you will provide essential support to an individual with traumatic brain injury, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of resident rights and how to engage people in stimulating conversation and activity. You will work closely with a client to assist them in recreational activities while promoting independence and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to an individual with traumatic brain injury in recreational activities.
• Document each shift using a simple form, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and turn in all documentation by the 2nd of each month.
• Monitor client state and response, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Develop and implement individualized social and recreational support goals in collaboration with the care team.
• Uphold client rights by advocating for their needs and preferences.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for client at all times.
• Respond effectively to emergencies by immediately notifying appropriate personnel.

Skills

• Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care.
• Experience with individuals who have disabilities is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of client information.
• Strong understanding of resident rights and advocacy principles.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with client, their family, and team members.
