Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Director to lead our mental health services team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatry, particularly in pediatric psychiatry, and will be responsible for overseeing patient care, ensuring compliance with medical standards, and implementing effective treatment programs. This role requires a compassionate leader who is committed to improving the mental health of our patients, including children and individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for patients across various age groups, including children and geriatrics.
  • Develop and oversee treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Psychopharmacology.
  • Manage crisis situations effectively while providing crisis management support to staff and patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical documentation, including medical records and intake assessments.
  • Lead telehealth initiatives to expand access to mental health services for patients.
  • Conduct data collection and analysis to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Supervise clinical staff, providing guidance on best practices in mental health counseling and addiction counseling.
  • Stay current with advancements in the field of psychiatry and behavioral health to enhance service offerings.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Psychiatry; post-residency experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in pediatric psychiatry, crisis management, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health counseling techniques, including PTSD care, addiction counseling, and psychotherapy methods.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation processes, and patient assessment protocols.
  • Experience working in hospital settings as well as outpatient clinics is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in medical practice.
