Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Director to lead our mental health services team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatry, particularly in pediatric psychiatry, and will be responsible for overseeing patient care, ensuring compliance with medical standards, and implementing effective treatment programs. This role requires a compassionate leader who is committed to improving the mental health of our patients, including children and individuals with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for patients across various age groups, including children and geriatrics.
- Develop and oversee treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Psychopharmacology.
- Manage crisis situations effectively while providing crisis management support to staff and patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical documentation, including medical records and intake assessments.
- Lead telehealth initiatives to expand access to mental health services for patients.
- Conduct data collection and analysis to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
- Supervise clinical staff, providing guidance on best practices in mental health counseling and addiction counseling.
- Stay current with advancements in the field of psychiatry and behavioral health to enhance service offerings.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Psychiatry; post-residency experience preferred.
- Proven experience in pediatric psychiatry, crisis management, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of mental health counseling techniques, including PTSD care, addiction counseling, and psychotherapy methods.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation processes, and patient assessment protocols.
- Experience working in hospital settings as well as outpatient clinics is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
