Psychiatrist – Bright Horizons Psychiatry

Location: Rockville/North Bethesda, MD

Employment Type: Full-Time (In-person)

About Us

Bright Horizons Psychiatry (BHP) is a cutting-edge, physician-led mental health practice founded and directed by Johns Hopkins–trained psychiatrist Dr. Amir Etesam. We are one of the region’s fastest-growing clinics, recognized for delivering evidence-based, compassionate, and innovative care—including advanced neuromodulation therapies (TMS, Spravato®/Esketamine, IM Ketamine), integrative psychiatry, and comprehensive outpatient services.

We pride ourselves on being a no-waitlist practice that accepts most major insurances, Medicare, and Medicaid, ensuring access to the highest quality psychiatric care. With a team-oriented culture and strong infrastructure—including dedicated care coordinators, advanced billing systems, and robust marketing—we empower clinicians to focus on what matters most: excellent patient care.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist who is passionate about advancing the field of psychiatry while delivering personalized care. This role combines the stability of a thriving, multimillion-dollar private practice with the excitement of working at the forefront of psychiatric innovation.

The psychiatrist will provide diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and collaborative treatment planning, while also having the opportunity to specialize in neuromodulation, integrative care, and treatment-resistant depression protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide medication management for patients across the lifespan (focus on adults; child/adolescent care optional).
  • Collaborate with therapists, nurse practitioners, TMS technicians, and care coordinators in a multidisciplinary model.
  • Participate in cutting-edge treatment programs, including TMS, Spravato®, and IM ketamine protocols.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in our streamlined EHR.
  • Engage in collaborative case reviews and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Optional: Participate in clinical program development, educational outreach, or leadership opportunities as the practice expands.

  • Qualifications
    • MD or DO degree with completed residency in Psychiatry.
    • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Psychiatry.
    • Eligible for medical licensure in Maryland (additional DC/VA licensure a plus).
    • Strong interest in treatment-resistant depression, neuromodulation, and/or integrative psychiatry.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
    • Commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care.

  • Why Join Bright Horizons Psychiatry?
    • Innovative Practice: Work at one of the few practices in the region offering advanced neuromodulation therapies integrated with psychiatry.
    • Supportive Infrastructure: Dedicated staff handle scheduling, billing, and prior authorizations—allowing you to focus on clinical care.
    • Strong Patient Demand: Our reputation and marketing ensure a steady flow of new patients with no waitlist.
    • Collaborative Team: Join a diverse team of psychiatrists, NPs, and therapists committed to excellence and growth.
    • Flexible Model: Opportunities for both insurance-based and cash-pay services; flexible scheduling and potential hybrid work.
    • Growth Potential: Leadership opportunities as we expand across Maryland and beyond.

  • Compensation & Benefits
    • Competitive base salary plus productivity-based incentives.
    • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
    • Malpractice coverage.
    • CME allowance and paid time off.
    • Option to participate in revenue-sharing for neuromodulation services.
