About Job
The school psychologist will be responsible for conducting psychoeducational evaluations on students referred in compliance with federal and state laws. The school psychologist will be actively involved with school personnel in addressing the needs of all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide psychological services for students with disabilities and referred students including testing, diagnosis and consultation.
- Conduct appropriate psychological evaluations of referred students and submit required written reports on evaluated students in compliance with Article 7 timelines.
- Interpret assessment results and integrate them with other information regarding behavior and conditions related to learning.
- Consult and work with school personnel and parents in planning and developing a student’s individualized education program and school programs to meet the special needs of students.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams and case conferences.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school and agency representatives utilize language understandable to the general public to facilitate understanding of psychological data, information and results.
- Participate and assist in planning and presenting for in-service training programs for teachers, administrators, and other school personnel as requested by the special education office.
- Attend scheduled staff, committee, professional, interagency meetings and staff development meetings.
- Interact and consult health, mental health, and juvenile justice agency representatives offices as needed.
- Participate on School-based and District RTI and MTSS Teams.
- Enter School based Medicaid related services into the Medicaid billing program.
Qualifications:
- School Psychologists must possess a valid Indiana School Psychologist license.
- Thorough knowledge of IDEA / Article 7
- Effective spoken and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy of information
- Ability to work with teams, either as a leader or participant
- The position covers multiple school buildings and sites and requires use of personal vehicles for travel with mileage reimbursement.
