Job Title: Therapist - AMFT

Department: Clinical

Lines of Supervision:

Reports to: Clinical Director - Direct Report

Supervises: Not Applicable

Salary: DOE + Benefits (after successful completion of Introductory Period)

Please note the schedule for this position is full-time Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday. Please also note that (reimbursed) travel between our two locations (4 miles apart) is necessary; reliable transportation is required.

General Summary: The Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) is responsible for the individual and group therapy needs of clients while in outpatient or residential treatment. She/he will maintain caseload. Acts as the central receiver of pertinent clinical data and works closely with the treatment team (Case Manager, Nursing Staff) and Clinical Director in the formulation of treatment planning, responding to crisis within the milieu and planning for the needs of clients and client milieu to ensure efficacy of service delivery.

Job Duties: *

Completion of all Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) and/or documentation within Recovery Dynamics timelines:

  1. Intake

  2. Biopsychosocial Assessment

  3. Treatment/Recovery Planning

  4. Documentation of progress and treatment plan reviews

  5. Discharge planning and documentation

  6. Clinical updates to family and/or referral sources (as allowed via client consents)

  7. Regular sessions with clients, as outlined via Participant Admission Agreement and Treatment Plan

  8. Crisis Intervention

  9. Referral to outside providers (dental, legal, psychiatry etc.)

  10. Group Therapy and educational groups

  11. Filing, copies, other office duties as needed

  12. Preparation of group materials and researching new methodologies for

inclusion in group and individual therapy sessions.

  1. Individual Therapy Sessions as determined by client need and clinical guidelines

  2. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Current registration through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. Registration must be current and in good standing.

  2. One year of experience as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with strong professional references attesting to high degree of clinical sophistication. Advanced knowledge of 12-step treatment model and it’s application in residential and outpatient treatment. Specific knowledge in process addiction and treatment resources helpful.

  3. Advanced assessment, treatment planning, discharge planning and documentation skills.

  4. Knowledge of treatment and referral community in Southern California.

  5. Knowledge of dual diagnosis treatment practices including non-pharmacological symptom management techniques.

  6. Current certification in First Aid/CPR
