About Job

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.


This opportunity is for a fully licensed School Social Worker to provide intervention support to K-12 students in an onsite setting. The role involves working primarily with Special Education students in small groups or one-on-one sessions to address social-emotional needs and foster academic success. Placement may focus on Elementary (K-6), Middle, or High School (7-12) grade levels, depending on availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Special Education students through social work interventions in both group and individual settings.
  • Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement effective strategies.
  • Manage a caseload spanning K-12 grades, adaptable to school needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and state requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to creating a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work.
  • Full Approval or Social Worker Certificate from the Michigan Department of Education or SSW 310 credential letter with active MDE application process.
  • Current Michigan State Social Worker license through LARA.
  • Experience working with K-12 Special Education populations preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Location: Howell, Michigan (Onsite)
Schedule: 35 hours per week
Employment Type: Contract, Non-School Year (NSY)
