Position Overview
The Associate Marriage and Family Therapist will provide couples therapy and individual therapy to clients at Integrative Couples Therapy. Duties also include documentation, attendance at team meetings and attendance at clinical supervision.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Be properly registered as an LMFT or AMFT with the CA BBS and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and code of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for Integrative Couples Therapy.
- Perform in person and virtual psychotherapy services to couples and adults as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies.
- Attend in house weekly clinical supervision (for AMFT).
- Afternoon and evening availability.
- Provide the highest level of care and responsiveness to client and staff communication.
- Conduct timely and complete records for each client.
- Attend team meetings as directed by Integrative Couples Therapy.
- Be respectful of and collaborative with co-workers and support our team members to grow and learn.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications of the Position
- Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or related.
- Completion of professional training in couples therapy in addition to your graduate school education,
- Adherence to all laws and ethical standards of the Marriage and Family Therapy profession including those of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassionate and empathic with a strong ability to establish emotional safety, alliance, and trust.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Strong work ethic and a drive to meet client caseload minimums.
- Able to remain emotionally centered and reassuring in tense situations and to deescalate conflicts.
- Thorough understanding of at least one couple therapy model and theory of change.
- Organizational skills required to manage schedule, be responsiveness to clients and ICT team, and complete documentation.
- Proficient with Simple Practice, telehealth, email, and Google Workspace.
- Ability to sustain a minimum weekly caseload once caseload is established. Like all other minimum qualifications listed here, this is a requirement for this position.
- Ability to complete progress notes within 24 hours of the session time, and in no more than 5 minutes per client, on average.
Important Notes
- This is an office based position in Encinitas, CA with some telehealth.
- The expectation is that the couples therapist will build and maintain a caseload of 20 clients per week or more.
