Join the Exciting Relaunch of Our Afterschool Program at NORY! In 2019, NORY proudly partnered with 35 of the best schools in NYC for our highly sought-after afterschool programs. This time, we're focusing on expanding our NORY Master's coding Afterschool program tailored for 8-12-year-olds.

Responsibilities:
- Lead engaging NORY Master's coding classes for 8-12-year-olds, fostering an environment of creativity and curiosity.
- Promote a safe and fun learning environment, focusing on NORY's core values: resilience, inquisitiveness, and empathy.
- Find innovative ways to make learning exciting and effective.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children ages 8-12yo.
- Genuine love for children, combined with an empathetic and caring nature.
- Ability to turn routine activities into exciting learning experiences.
- Skilled in storytelling and a positive problem solver.
- Strong classroom and behavioral management skills.
- Punctuality and professionalism.
- No need for a STEM background - we provide thorough training for those who have a passion for learning new things and coding experience is a plus!
Details:
- Hours? The hours depend on what schools are offering and what is available. It may be 1 or 2 hours between 3-5PM.
- Days? Monday to Friday (at least 1 day a week).
- Start Date? January 2024.
- Compensation? $39 - 51.5/hour which covers:
- → Preparation: Teachers should arrive a minimum of 15 minutes early for material setup.
- → Lesson plan review, occasional training, and post-class clean-up.
- → Adjustments: Payments are prorated based on the class duration, e.g., a 45-minute class is adjusted accordingly.
- → Materials Handling: Unless specified differently, lead teachers are responsible for collecting and returning materials to NORY HQ in Midtown Manhattan.
