This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide essential social work support in an elementary school setting serving grades K-5. The role focuses on assisting a diverse population of students, including those in multiple special education classrooms, during a contracted leave period. Responsibilities:
- Conduct social and emotional assessments to support students well-being and academic success
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to develop individualized support plans
- Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and referrals to community resources as needed
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to address student needs and progress
- Advocate for students rights and support inclusive practices within the school community
Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work or related field with appropriate licensure or certification
- Experience working in a school setting, preferably with elementary-aged children
- Knowledge of special education processes and ability to support students with diverse learning needs
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with ethical standards in social work practice

- Elementary school in Joliet, Illinois, serving K-5 students, including special education classrooms
