Job Overview
We, Pediatric Associates of Youngstown are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health counseling and a passion for helping children navigate their challenges. This role involves providing therapeutic support to children 2-21 years old, families, and individuals with various mental health needs. The counselor will utilize evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques to foster healing and growth.
Duties
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for clients of all ages, including children and families.
- Utilize various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
- Perform intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and management for clients in acute distress.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on topics such as grief counseling, mild depression, anxiety, PTSD care and ADHD patients
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Engage in clinical research to enhance therapeutic practices and outcomes.
- Offer telehealth services to accommodate clients' needs.
- Support clients with developmental disabilities through tailored behavioral therapy approaches.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent credential.
- Experience working with children, families, and individuals with diverse backgrounds is preferred.
- Familiarity with crisis management techniques and behavioral health interventions.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, patient assessment methods, and clinical documentation practices.
- Ability to provide culturally competent care that respects the diverse backgrounds of clients.
- Experience in outpatient settings.
- Proficiency in case management and direct support services for individuals with disabilities or special needs.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 24 per week
