Transition Counselor / Vocational Counselor (positions in Williamsburg, VA and surrounding areas)

We help people with disabilities live up to their abilities! We are looking for dedicated people to join our Hampton Roads team in our mission to help our clients find meaningful employment.

This is a community-based position that will work with students with disabilities in Williamsburg and surrounding counties, including the Northern Neck. This is a collaborative program that works with students in preparing for and transitioning to successful, integrated employment in the community. This position will also work with adult clients in the supported employment process.

Compensation is excellent and based on experience, education, and additional applicable skills. Compensation for driving time and mileage!

Requirements:

This position requires a dedicated person to be a self-starter with great time management skills. This is a community-based position, so the ideal candidate will have a valid driver’s license, dependable transportation, a good driving record, and documentation of adequate auto insurance.

Prefers a master’s degree in a related field plus 1 year of related experience, a bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 2 years of related experience, an associate’s degree (or equivalent credits) in a related field plus 4 years of experience, or a high school diploma and 10 years of related experience.

Related field or experience is defined as: Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Human Services, or other education or work with individuals with varying disabilities that is determined to be equivalent)
