Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health counseling and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality care to individuals and families. This role involves working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, addressing various mental health challenges through evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client goals and therapeutic interventions.
- Provide psychotherapy services, including individual, group, and family counseling.
- Utilize techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and crisis intervention to support clients.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and coding standards (ICD-9, ICD-10).
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on topics such as grief counseling, addiction counseling, and behavioral management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
- Engage in crisis management and provide direct support during critical situations.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance service delivery and treatment outcomes.
- Stay informed about current best practices in mental health counseling and participate in ongoing professional development.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent state credential.
- Experience working with children and families is preferred; familiarity with special education is a plus.
- Proficiency in various therapeutic modalities including but not limited to psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Strong skills in patient assessment, case management, and crisis intervention strategies.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical records management.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals facing developmental disabilities or mental health disorders such as PTSD or chronic pain conditions.
