The Progyny Care Advocate Parenting Wellness Expert is responsible for improving emotional-health outcomes for growing families and working parents by leveraging clinical expertise and knowledge of postpartum mental health, child development (ages 1-5), and other specialties to offer high-tough consultation, education, and targeted outside referrals for parents seeking guidance around parenting best practices, child development, child mental/emotional health, and more.
What you’ll do...
  • Partner with referred participants to address specific areas of concern related to postpartum planning, child development, educational decisions, behavioral concerns, work/life balance, career advancement, and other common stressors faced by working parents of children ages 1-5 years old
  • Assess participant and family’s well-being and presenting concerns to develop an individual plan of care an appropriate next step
  • This role will serve as an educational and coaching resource with clinical expertise, not a substitute for medical or psychological care
  • Design and deliver peer support groups on specific topics of interest to new and working parents
  • Identify and refer participants and families to regional/local professionals for ongoing care
  • Empower participants to advocate for themselves and their child(ren) with other key stakeholders
  • Respond to all incoming participant requests within 24 business hours
  • Document all participant interactions in an accurate and timely manner
  • Develop content (articles, webinars, mini-courses, marketing campaigns, and more)
  • Attend Progyny webinars and in-person events to inform employee populations about supports offered to working parents
About you...
  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or sociology and active professional license in the state that the candidate resides
  • Experience working with children and families in the early childhood years (1-5 years old) in a behavioral or educational setting
  • Strong understanding of child development milestones and related resources
  • Strong communication skills with ability to build rapport quickly
  • Excellent customer service, strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills - ability to communicate accurately and concisely
  • Ability to effectively manage evolving priorities, multiple projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience working with growing families, working parents, women who are pregnant or struggling with becoming pregnant, families that are adopting, and/or working families of young children
  • Bilingual preferred but not required

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the hourly salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $25.00 - $35.00. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
