Summary
Responsible for providing direct supportive assistance and guidance to enhance individuals in a residential service program while coordinating responsibilities and program policies with Senior Clinician.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports Program Management in communication between Recovery Care Managers and other administrative staff, clinicians and senior clinicians.
- Supports Program Management with scheduling and helps with coverage when needed.
- Performs weekly medication audits to ensure policies are accurately being performed.
- Maintains accountability of client’s locations at all times.
- Collects urine samples and complete related paperwork and breathalyzer testing as required by contract.
- Inspects client rooms, facility common areas and outside perimeter on a daily basis to include alarms, doors, all window and door locks, lighting and fire safety equipment.
- Supervises client meals and kitchen area.
- Monitors client visiting and maintains visiting residential log.
- Monitors clients during smoke breaks.
- Monitors client behavior and implements organizational behavior management procedures as needed.
- Mediates and resolves client problems.
- Resolves all emergency situations in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Completes intake paperwork and assist in client orientation as assigned.
- Supervises client work assignments and check for satisfactory completion.
- Serves as a positive role model following program guidelines for professional conduct and code of ethics.
- Develops and maintains professional boundaries and relations with clients.
- Assists clients in working on program goals and provide client services in areas of growth and responsibility, education, vocation, legal, family and friends.
- Conducts sanitation and safety inspections of all internal and external areas and equipment.
- Documents all shift activities and incidents in log.
- Responds to client and program crises and report incidents to supervisor as detailed in program incident procedures.
- Maintains a working knowledge of and abide by the organization’s programs, policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, client supervision, key control, head counts, round of the facility, monitoring of client location and visitors, emergency procedures, and inspections.
- Observes self-medication for clients.
- Completes fire drills on their shift
- Ensures that the program’s physical environment meets required regulations including a clean, safe, and welcoming atmosphere.
- Supports the processes for all contractual agreements, certifications or licensing regulations including but not limited to the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS).
- Actively participates in program meetings, clinical meetings, supervision and ad hoc work groups, as needed, in an effort to carry out the mission of the program.
- Supports positive outcome measures as defined by the state regulations and agency quality assurance processes. Insures program compliance through the timely and accurate reporting of data as needed.
- Works in coordination with the agency Administrative Support Staff for proficient service delivery.
- Other duties as assigned.
Documentation requirements:
- Completes shift log by the end of each shift.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Position has no direct supervisory responsibilities
Schedule: Sunday through Thursday 8am to 4pm

Education and Years of Experience
- Degree: High School Diploma Required. Associates/ Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
- Number of Years of Experience: 3 Total.
Requirements
- Prior experience in the field of mental health and addiction.
- Must maintain and provide proof of valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in good standing.
- Ability to provide leadership under stressful or crisis situations. Ability to problem-solve. Ability to meet deadlines and establish and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Medication Self-Administration Training.
- Demonstration of ethical behavior and sound judgment that supports the NASW standards of care.
- Ability to travel to various agencies, businesses, and meet with clients in their homes.
- Use of personal vehicle.
- Able to work flexible hours when necessary.
- Must meet and maintain all required trainings, certifications etc. as needed.
- Uphold confidentiality by following the HIPAA regulations
Working Conditions
- Working conditions are based both in office and community settings.
- Local travel.
- Possibility of exposure to outdoor weather conditions, unsanitary environments, bodily fluids.
- Possibility of exposure to use of substances, vulgar statements, or hostile/dangerous situations.
